I agree suro, it's great to see that even after so long we still came back here, and it feels like nothings changed, even though we've all grown up in our own ways; yet we still have the pleasures of this place to help us with whatever we need.

You know, I would love to do a story/comic about this. It'll be slice of life, and deals with a group of friends who all met online, etcetc Maybe I'll put it on my list of story-to-do and actually do it one day

Is that actually the Story-to-do-one-day-but-never-do-because-the-internet-is-too-addictiting list? Cause I have the same one.

It'll be a long way away, I think. I would need to finish the comic I'm working on now, and also finish the other one I plan to do after it Then I would get to the slice-of-life But that gives me a lot of time to plan out everything.

I enjoy slice of life a lot, makes you actually feel for the characters and relate to them. Also, you're talking about the comic you linked awhile back right? the one with that crazy awesome style of art you do, and the girl eating ramen and dude running in the rain? Cause that looks sweet.

Haha, whenever I feel like just getting away from life for a bit- ironically, I always read a slice-of-life comic. I've always found it comforting that slice-of-life comics aren't as happy-go-lucky or problem-free as other comics. It helps you see past people's personas, exposes real life obstacles, and deals with authentic real human emotions and thoughts towards realistic situations. @nawa- That would be a fantastic idea. selic & Mav- Haha yeah, this thread has definitely become a Life of Hardships thread xD Glad to see the both of you are doing well! The CCC Foros was one of the very first websites I ever came into contact with (along with Neopets and DA) when I started using the internet. Compared to the other websites, I've always subconsciously considered the CCC foros as my internet home (hence why I always found myself here in the past) haha~. I haven't been able to find another place like this, prolly 'cos there isn't another place such as this, or this community of people. Damn I love you guys.

That's pretty much the feeling we all share I think(at least some of us), you're 100% right too, I've never been able to find another place like this, it's just home away from real life, it's wonderful :>

wow. a lot of stuff has happened for people. since starting here at the forums.
Time for me seems a bit smushed. When i joined I was say fresh or sophmore in highschool. Alot my drawing grew from the interaction with the peeps the forum. I've gone through a lot of stylistic and fundamental changes is drawing. tons of stuff happened, typical highschool stuff. I cut my head open during sparring, before fall semester finals in my senior year and was missing a few days and behind stuff. but ended up coming back in time to ace all more classes. Graduated in 2008, and two days after the graduation ceremony I had my 6 hour long blackbelt test. awesome highpoint. After which I went to college with graphic design in mind, and i'll admit that i didn't truly understand what that would mean. for the first two years, I went a community college to focus on getting gen eds out of the way, whiles working as a martial arts instructor at the gym. Found myself look at a lot for my experience, which felt strange since even today I don't see myself as a good teacher or leader. I helped substitute a lot and mostly taught kids classes.
After i graduated with my associates in art, i transferred to Illinois state university, where it felt odd to just start on my art major fundamental classes, but was really a god send, since many of the peeps i met in those classes had to retake them when they transferred. The first year certainly wasn't easy, and i've made a lot of good friend and met a lot of different people. I had quit teaching and doing martial arts to barely keep up with the workload. I even double majored with glassblowing. In a sense it's to balance the 2d and distant nature of graphic design. other than that it's just so damn awesome to mold and sculpt molten glass.
I still miss martial arts and hope to get back into it, though try kung fu, when ever there's an open in the future. so, in the mean time i'm doing freestyle nunchucking.
I'm currently working again, as front desk at a Best Western hotel. I check in/out guess, make reservations, check rooms, carry luggage, and general security. It's pretty much the only job i was hired for before filling out the application, and the only job that i've had that allows me to work on homework and chill on the web while working. Though is seems a bit easy, sicne i've worked there over the last 3 weeks crazy shit had happened. +Dealing with power outages, and doing reservations by hand. +people stealing keycards from the desk at 1st shift and stealing a room. k, i'm gonna have to tell this one. okay so i'm second shift. While checking out the system and looking a reservations, one of the housekeepers (who don't speak good English) starts yelling a room number at me and saying it wont open. saying that there were two young guys that went in there. I check it out, knock on the door, no answer. swipe my card, and it flashes but doesn't open. I then get one of the maintenance guys to help out, and his key and doesn't work. So i decide to swing out side and check the window, and its wide open. apparently if you lock the chain the door wont unlock to push in. but there was Chinese food left in the room and they stole the block that keeps the door shut. We check the bag for a receipt but nothing. If i had seen those bastard, believe me, I would have had one of them eating pavement. +the other incident was when a cop brought in a drunk student to sleep it off (he's lucky because the officer didn't have to do that). I asked if he would only go to bed and nothing else, asked the student and he agree. So I gave him a room, handed him his keycard, and escorted him to his room. when we got to his room, his keycard didn't work, (had it near his phone, which demagnetizes it.) So i walk him back to the front desk and redo it. i hand it to him again, and he starts talking about going to the pool. i tell him no, he only agreed to go to bed and that he can go in the morning. but this bastard keeps whining about going to the pool. I ask for keycard back, he starts to make a fuss, asking if i'm serious and eventually hands it over and stumble out the hotel. I call the police, and had to wait an hour before they arrive. during that hour I had to follow him around the hotel (cuz he thought his room was on a third floor, but each time he went upstairs he kept walking down back down.), keep him form getting beat up from some Russian guests that were staying here to work, and drag him to the lobby to sit down, where he had an argument with me, without me say a word.
yep that's everything up to now in short. I'm thinking of using my hotel experience as an inspiration for a slice-of-life autobiographic blogcomic. other projects I'm working on is the comic i've been talking about for years involving lupe. I'm working with a friend and we've restarted 5 times over the last 3 years. but now we have a cast of over 80 characters, most of the world is built, so now it's scripting and writing as well is improving our drawing skills. plus i'm making and selling glass stuffs. so check out my Deviant art : lupercy.deviantart.com for updates on new glass and art i'm making.

Caitlin here. Well, can't say I want to get all sentimental, but I suppose it is interesting to see where everyone ended up. I can't really remember much of the original foros, I know that I was 15 and then 16 when I was on them and that I was a little shit basically.
So, what I've done since then? Basically everything. Grew up mostly. Graduated high school, went to Japan for a bit, then off to college. Then sex, drugs, rock and roll (not really, rock and roll is meh). Took up swearing like a sailor. Took up playing D&D and WoD. Starting reading about 80 different webcomics (hellooooo RSS feeds). I cut my hair and was a guy for a month. I got political. I bought a camera. I broke some hearts. I'm currently studying Linguistics. That's about it I guess. Still a self-centered prick though I'm less forward about it.
I'm not much for forums these days, but I thought I'd stop by and say hey and see how everyone has been.

Oh wow seems like everyone as gotten a taste of life after the Foro. Will I dont really remember how old i was when I joined. I think I was still in High school during the time or getting out of High school XD Will Im not sure if anyone remember me working for Homedepot...Will I still am XD it been about 7year that Ive been working there. But I never stayed in the same Department. Ive been in Garden...Hardware..merchandiser...paint the Tranfered to the MET (merchadising excection team) then Finally got a Sign making job at a different store. Where I do hand made sign for the store. As for School...I had to stop going to college because I wasnt able to afford it after getting to a car accident in 2007 and having to buy a new car just so i can get to work and back. Its been about 5 years that Ive been in dedit with having to pay for 2 cars. The one that got trash and my New car. Im happy to say that im almost done paying both of them off. I should be done my February of 2012. Artwise...I still drawing XD Never have stopped since the Foro ended. I found myself in a Fandom of other Furry. Funny enough I didnt know there were other people like me that drew themself as animal like people. Im sure most of you might have heard about "Furrys" So I spent most of my year drawing comission for other furry people as while as my own stuff .And ive meeting new friends at Conventions and other events while being in the Fandom and some love and heart break on the way too. I never really left the internet I just be busy with Work and I dont have as much time to draw like I used to, Im sure you guy remember me coming bk for the dead a few times XD Ive tryed to upload more most of the drawing on DA but it so confusing to figure it now then how it was bk them. I go under leachy-8e.deviantart.com/ and not Lil creeper anymore. Most of my stuff is on www.furaffinity.net/user/leachy/ because not all my comissioner are from DA. BE WARNED there are some mature images on the site...most of my stuff is ok to look at tho XD Beside Art. I Pick up tattooing and Jewerely making too. I plan to my a Esty store when I have more time to do extra jewerely since they get sold before I can even take a picture of them XD When Im not working im doing artshows with a art group that my sister put together called the "818 Valley Ratz" where Im slowly trying to get bk into traditional piece like I used to do .Im also working out at the Gym doing MMA, boxing and Cardio to get back in shape since Ive let myself go over the years XD Also Im 25 and old....Respect your Father O U O <33 Thats all I got. XD ROLFLMLAO!!!!!!111

Nice to see that even though people have certainly had some downs, they're back up again! Weeeeell as a few of you may know I had an interview (of sorts) this morning - starting Wednesday I'll be working on campus for a project converting original documents related to the Spanish Civil War into digitised files (a lot of which comes from the 1930s, meaning OCR software will spazz out trying to convert it to text and will require me to read through entire files), recording how long it takes, and compiling some huge metadata archive. There are literally thousands of files but at least I'll be an expert on the era by the time I'm finished Pretty decent pay for what I'm doing, really interesting subject AND on the same campus I'll be doing my master's degree on, boom!
