Yeah, I guess this is Foros v3. I think it was a bit before v2 that things were dying down, somewhere around late '06 to early '07 Yeap, I remember LocalGE being 16 I think it was, and now he's be....21 or 22. I was 19 I guess.... sounds about right. I think I had my 20th birthday while here. I'm 25 now. I tell ya, the most amazing thing about this place is not how awesome any one person is, but rather how inspirational everybody is to everybody else.

ill try to explain my life and where I plan on taking it.
I am a grade 10 high school student. I go to central technical school in toronto ontario. I also attend the specialized art program within central tech. i am planning on leaving the specialized art program because i am losing interest in most of the things that im being taught.
there are 3 things that im thinking of pursuing in my life. becoming a paramedic, learning 3D design or coding and geting into game dev, I have a friend in the art program who is really good at drawing manga but he needs a writer, I get upper 80s in english so he has preposed to me that I be his writer and that he would be the illustrator of a manga. If I were to become a manga creator i would go to Japan and teach english part time.
wow... it was a great activity to examin my life and where i want to take it.

Sounds pretty cool actually. You're not the only one around here from Toronto either.
Writing is difficult, and I would recommend getting into writing classes. A college major in English, Japanese, or double major I imagine would be required to teach English in Japan. I've known a few people who have gone over there to work. It takes a lot of dedication and arriving with a solid set of skills to start with.
It sounds like you have a good idea of where to aim. Don't be afraid to explore other opportunities if they arise; that's how I ended up as a machinist, which is a job I really like.

You actually don't need to know any japanese to teach english in japan. When you take a course in english you are expected to have a basic understanding of english. But i plan on learning japanese anyway because i would like to know what i'm ordering on a menu instead of the pointing and hoping for the best

So my gf asked me why I had a couple spanish songs on my ipod the other night, Belanova "Tus ojos" and Jumbo "Aqui." I then had to explain that they are songs from some old flash animations that I really liked, and showed her a few CCC animations. Then I had to explain the foros and how I know some of you people. It was kind of weird, but she already knew I was a dork. I think it went well =)

This really is a reality thread. Like a palm to the face, it's a little too real. Uh, I dropped out of high school and began traveling when I was almost 17, that's a few months after last contact with the foros. I was a chronic liar throughout high school, as some of you may have gathered. I felt like I had to ACTUALLY do something. I saw most of the Southeastern region of the United States. That was pretty cool. But just when I was on my way to maybe hop a train North somewhere, I met a lady. Ended up having one of these: She's two now. Things didn't work out romantically with the lady and things aren't working out for me. Or should I say I'm not working. So, I'm off to Oregon from Georgia to find better opportunities and the only mode of transportation I have is a Japanese-made road bicycle. So, ever determined to be more hardcore than ever, I'm soon to embark on a cross-country bicycle ride with pictures and videos just... just sprayin' right outta me, man! [By the way, my child is always my first priority and there was a lot of thought and cooperation put into this plan between the child's mother and I. You know, just to avoid that conversation.] Wish me luck!

Well, I am not going to Oregon anymore. I would have already left, but one thing after another went wrong. Long story short is that I took my string of misfortune as a sign to get myself together before I make any decisions. You know, it's not a very good idea to make big decisions when one is as flustered as I was. Since I have traveled to closer locales and I might just move closer. Until then I have a couple part time jobs and things will be better once I get back on my feet. Anyway, I will at least show you a picture now that she has grown a little more. She was just a baby in that other picture. ( ´ 3 ` )ノ

> so yeah, I'm feeling the years tick by alright... Within the past 7 years, i graduated from vocational school with a degree in automotive collision repair and refinishing, with a minor in custom fabrication. Moved to Florida in 07, and bounced around a couple places living cheap and filling my lust for wakeboarding. Moved back to Georgia new years of 09. The next few years were wrought with stupid conflicts and a lot of underhanded tricks. Aside from that, it was a time of soul searching and whatnot. Suddenly became completely happy with myself as a person. Skip ahead to now, my newest hobby is spinning fire. My soul was stolen by DnB and dubstep and I'm alright with that. I'm now married to a beautiful woman named Michelle and we're expecting our first born in late December

Damn... what a walk down memory lane! I had forgotten about this thread and was about to come create this thread again, and I found this. I posted on here on xmas day 2011! Well, the apartment I wanted to move into with my gf actually just happened last month, 2013! Good news is we are still together and very happy. I still work for the bottled water company here in Atlanta, and just was promoted a couple months ago to our financial planning and analysis team.
I just had the best time reading all our your new posts. I am about to show my gf, Claudia btw, Gravitas+++. I hadn't seen that video yet. What else to say? I'll post again soon with cool pictures. gotta show claudia this video soon or she might lose interest! take care guys!

So good to catch up with you guys. I'm glad things are working out for you with your apartment, krynny. I'm particularly happy for you, numiso! It's mid December now, so I imagine you won't have time to see this post for a long while. Things are working out for me, too. Can't wait to throw out some more art. Nice to see the Georgia cats doing okay.

Yeah, I guess this is Foros v3. I think it was a bit before v2 that things were dying down, somewhere around late '06 to early '07 I remember the foros being way full in v1 for a while. A few months later it was just us, like nawa, innus, mav, zain, gara, rlp, tehcrazyhyena, gigias, you and a double-scoop of other artists and fans, not to mention RPers like Ari and kooma. Then about a half-year until v2 hit. Then a half-year until poopdown, right? You are absolutely right about that. Even artists who, at the time, weren't all that and a bag of chips, like I wasn't, only showed progression. It was really refreshing to see different levels of skill and different concepts presented in new and interesting ways. I sound like a college brochure right now.
